Staffed by expert pathologists, Stamford Hospital's Department of Pathology remains at the forefront in the battle against cancer. As such, the Department of Pathology provides:

Expert Surgical Pathology

Our team of experienced pathologists helps to evaluate all lesions. They work closely with radiologists and surgeons to assure the best possible outcomes for our patients both in terms of diagnosis and surgery.

Tumor/Prognosis Markers

We also provide cancer patients and their physicians with special studies that determine whether the tumor cells have hormone receptors, which can enable the patient to receive a special type of therapy.

Consultation Services

Patients diagnosed with cancer or who come to the Bennett Cancer Center for a second opinion can have their pathology reviewed at the time of their visit. This is done in conjunction with the surgeon so that the best therapeutic and diagnostic decisions can be made.
