Breast Cancer Patient Navigator 

As the patient navigatior for the Breast Health Center Michele Speer assists women that have an abnormal examination or a positive finding and helps them to navigate through the health care system. Additionally she is very focused on educating women in the community about the importance of screening and early detection. This teaches women how to take charge of their breast care — early detection can absolutely save lives.

The Breast Center Nurse Navigatior:

• Connects patients with resources and support systems.
• Facilitates interaction and communication with health care staff and providers.
• Streamlines appointments and paperwork.
• Helps patients identify and access financial services to pay for their health care needs.
• Helps decrease patients' fear and anxiety.
• Helps patients identify and utilize appropriate social services.
• Tracks interventions and outcomes.
